Also known as Frankfurter or Weiner. The origin of Hot Dog is the German city of Frankfurt, as well as a butcher living in Coburg, Germany. He traveled to Frankfurt to promote his new product, sometime in the late 1600s. In both cases, German immigrants did not bring sausages in the 19th century, but they also brought their favorite German dogs. The name began as a joke about thin, thin dogs.
Yale University food historians say the word "hotdog" began to appear in college journals in the 1890s. When the students started to call vehicles outside their homes, they sold hot sausages as "dog carts". It was not long before the word "dog" became a "hot dog". German immigrants sold them first from Bowery vehicles in New York City in the 1860s. Germany, Charles Feltman, in 1871, sausage sausage with milk rolls from his stand on Connie Island, and to this day began as the famous "Connie Dogg" (usually topped with delicious meat sauce). Cakes first appeared at the Colombian exhibition a few years later, when visitors were heavily charged. The sellers have achieved great success, and we can thank the Germans for their contribution to cooking.
